This policy explains how SwiftFixAutoRepair ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information when you visit this website or contact us, and the choices you have.
Who we are
SwiftFixAutoRepair is a mobile mechanic service covering Surrey and West Sussex. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at swiftfixautorepairuk@gmail.com or on 07831 416334.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us through the quote form, by phone, email or WhatsApp: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, vehicle registration, make and model, and a description of the problem.
- Job details if we carry out work: the address where we work on your vehicle, the work done and payment records.
- Advertising data, only if you accept cookies: information about how you arrived at our site from a Google advert and whether you contacted us, used to measure which adverts work.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and arrange and carry out work: necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform that contract.
- To keep invoices and accounting records: legal obligation.
- To honour our 12-month warranty and deal with any follow-up: legitimate interests.
- To measure our advertising: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing messages without your permission.
Cookies
Our site works without any tracking cookies. If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Ads and Google Analytics cookies to understand which adverts lead to enquiries. If you click Reject or ignore the banner, these cookies are not set. We remember your choice in your browser. You can change it any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
We also remember your light or dark display preference in your browser. This is not used for tracking.
Who we share it with
- Our web hosting provider: hosts this website and stores the quote requests sent through our form in a secure database.
- Google: provides our email and, with your consent, advertising measurement. Google may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
- WhatsApp (Meta): if you choose to message us there.
- Parts suppliers: only your vehicle details, where needed to order parts for your job.
- Our accountant, HMRC or others: where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries that don't lead to work for up to 12 months. For completed jobs, we keep records for 6 years to meet tax and accounting rules and to support warranty claims.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email us to make a request. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
